Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) involves breathing 100% pure oxygen while relaxing in a pressurized hyperbaric chamber.
The increase in pressure, ranging from 1.5 to nearly 3 times normal atmospheric pressure, will allow up to 20 times more oxygen to be dissolved in the red blood cells, blood plasma, lymphatic fluid and cerebrospinal fluid. This dramatic increase in oxygen, along with the increase in pressure, enriches hypoxic (under-oxygenated) areas of the body and promotes accelerated healing of these damaged tissues on a cellular level.
